Little girls can buy pencil cases with the Playboy logo on. Playboy is infiltrating girls’ culture from early ages, able to buy jewellery and clothes also bearing the logo, usually completely oblivious to its meanings. In this way we see how the brand is subtly and successfully enabling women to accept and approbate the implications of what Playboy is, and how it objectifies women - our realisation of this being completely dulled due to its constant presence in our culture. Women as sexualised objects is no longer a contested concept, because it is ever present to the extent that it is the norm.
